Sri Lankan soldiers joined the community meeting on Sept. 2 to provide permanent security planning for the Gran Ravin community. They learned from residents about the activities of the police and attachés still ongoing. They said they are planning to set up a permanent patrol in the area. The now idle high school was suggested as a good place as the base for such a permanent patrol. The community leaders were visibly relieved at the appearance of the UN troops and readily cooperated in long range plans for securing the neighborhood. |
